AJ Auxerre match preview

By: j | December 12th, 2008

Only five points out of first place, PSG is reinvigorated in the rare air of the top of the table. As Paul Le Guen looks forward to hitting the century mark in charge of the Parisians against Auxerre with a victory, following the Marseille – Lyonnais showdown on Sunday, his side could be within a single match of being on top of the table. Considering last years massive fight against relegation, it is not difficult not to be overwhelmed with the changes of fortune.

Both clubs appear fully-fit with only Auxerre’s Jean-Pascal Mignot in the sin-bin. While PSG has been concerned with the health of skipper Claude Makélélé, he has assured staff he will be ready. The PSG attack looks to be running on all cylinders, notably through the work of Stéphane Sessegnon and the striking duo of Guillaume Hoarau and Ludovic Giuly. Auxerre’s meager attack have not been able to find the net in over three-hundred thirty minutes and PSG will start with the match with the firm idea that has served them well this year of controlling play with a defensive net. While rarely given credit the back-line work of Cearà, Zoumana Camara, Sammy Traoré, Sylvain Armand will hold the key to the match.

I will report on the match as it concludes.

Good to have PSG back to where they belong. They still have a lot to improve to do justice to the ‘PSG’ brand name CV is trying to create.
