and now, Stéphane Sessegnon
By: j | July 16th, 2008
To the chagrin of Arsene Wenger and Kevin Keegan, Paul Le Guen has signed twenty-four year-old Stéphane Sessegnon, formerly of Le Mans. Details of the contract have not been made public but it is known to be for a four-year term and the transfer fee is reputedly in the €8-10m range. Arsenal has considered the tough defensive midfielder, who has a knack for scoring timely goals, as an immediate replacement to Mathieu Flamini, who has headed to AC Milan. Stéphane was a bright light in the Le Mans season as well as impressing for Benin in the African Cup of Nations and can be expected to shine just as bright at Parc des Princes.

Great signing for PSG. Sessegnon is one of my favorite players. He got his career started at my hometown club of Creteil, I wish him the best.

This is good news. I’m so glad he’s staying in Ligue 1 as opposed to taking the first bus out of France. PSG’s midfield definitely needs to be sorted out, and Sessegnon is one of the players to help.

Ive seen a lot of Sessegnon and he appears to have a great future. He was really impressive in the African Cup of Nations. A move to PSG is quite an interesting one, only time will tell if its the right move for him.
