Bonjour!
By: Thomas | June 30th, 2009Welcome to the newest incarnation of the Paris Saint-Germain Offside. I am a fairly new fan of le PSG, as I only began following the club two years ago, but I was quickly caught up in the capital club’s struggle to avoid relegation last year and their attempt at Europe this year.

On to news about the club. Young Turkish international striker Melvut Erding is expected to sign for PSG in the next few days, with both clubs (Sochaux and PSG) having agreed on a 10 million euro price tag for the 22 year old. I find it a shock that we landed his signature, with bigger clubs such as Aston Villa and Lyon reportedly interested.
I believe that Erding is a very talented player and would be a good signing for any LIgue 1 team, but I don’t feel that we really need him. At striker we already have Hoarau, Guily, Luyindula, and Kezman and the latter two already saw scarce enough playing time.
What are your views on this transfer? Do you think it will help our preformance? Or merely mean we have an overabundance of strikers?

welcome from the Monaco offside. Erding is a great signing, Giuly and Luyindula are ancient and Kezman is a question mark after the shirt-throwing incident last year.
BTW, congrats on getting Coupet.Posted from

Sell Luyindula & Kezman. PSG isn’t playing in Europe so need of a big squad. Midfield is crowded too. But keeping Clement & Chantome would also be important.

Thanks for the welcome richard and congratulations on Savidan! Adiyta: I agree about keeping Clement and Chantome, but i think that we could do with getting rid of Rothen, for a nice transfer fee of course

Welcome, Thomas! I find PSG to be probably the most fascinating/frustrating club in Ligue 1. Looking forward to your coverage.

Thanks Laurie, I think i would have to agree with you on that. In a year we went from near relegation to a challenge for Europe.
