By: j | January 23rd, 2009

Charles Villeneuve tenure as President and General Manager of PSG has formally concluded as per the following joint statement that he issued with Sébastien Bazin, head of Colony Capital Europe:

“Charles Villeneuve will resign from his mandate as administrator and President-General Manager of Paris Saint-Germain on February 3, 2009, ahead of the General Assembly, to be held that same day. Until that date, he will continue to fulfil his current functions.

“At this date, the General Assembly will name a new Administrative Council which will outline a new direction for the Club.

“As part of this official club statement, both Sébastien Bazin and Charles Villeneuve would like to reiterate that the Club’s current financial situation is solid and durable and permits the Club to meet its objectives.

Sébastien Bazin said:
“I regret the misunderstandings that have made Charles Villeneuve’s departure unavoidable. Charles brought his energy and his man management skills to the Club, all of which was translated into this season’s good sporting results.”

Charles Villeneuve said:
“I still have a deep affection for this Club, what it stands for, as well as its players and supporters. I have every confidence in the future of PSG and in Sébastien Bazin.”
