Claude Makélélé decides to stay with les Rouge et Bleu
By: j | May 28th, 2009Despite early suggestions that this would be his final season, Claude Makélélé has decided to return to the les Rouge et Bleu next year. Eager to continue his leadership role with the Parisians, he said:
“I’m staying because the president assured me that the next coach of the club would want me here. That was my first condition. I’ll stay on the pitch for another season, because Sébastien Bazin wants me to play until 2010.
“I want to work for the club – be available for the president, the coach and the sporting director.
“I’m very interested in recruitment. My overseas network, my charisma and my standing in the game can help the club.”

Thank you both for joining me and yes quite a surprise.
Richard, this is difficult one for me because although this might be my largest blog in the amount of posts I make and certainly the club I see play most in person, it additionally has a very modest readership. Being quite honest I am not sure what to do but will review the statistics in early June and then decide. My decision doesn’t impact how I will support the club, attend matches but respectfully whether people are interested in hearing my take on PSG.

I was hoping that he would retire. He has immense presence in that PSG midfield but it is about time that Chantome & Clement start taking more responsibility. Arrival of Vieira will only convince Chantome & Clement to look for pastures new.
J, I hope you you continue to write for PSG for at least one more season. With improved PSG results more people will take notice of them and your blog, which is always very informative and I feel like your view represent general views of PSG fans.

I’m glad he’s coming back. He needs to play a lot less next year though.
