Coupe de la Ligue appeal update
By: j | July 28th, 2008
For those keeping abreast of PSG appeal for the Coupe de la Ligue, upon the clubs second formal appeal with the Appeals Commission of the LFP, the CNOSF has ruled that the original penalty was too harsh by the Disciplinary commission of the LFP. It is now up to the Fédération Française de Football (France Football Association) to either accept or reject the proposal or additionally propose a different penalty.
This certainly does not mean PSG is out of the woods yet and yes it also means I will need to further read legal documents and releases.

Too harsh? I really think that if the LFP backs down from this one, the fans won’t know where to stop :\

Jennifer - to me it looks like they’re looking for some sort of middle ground / way out with PSG about to get more publicity. Thats just speculative but if you saw the amount of publicity they received at the Tour, I think the LFP wants them around.

I have a sneaky feeling you might win the appeal and everything might be ok. Should be an interesting season at the Parc des Princes. I have written an article about PSG here for anyone interested, I am very much keen to hear your thoughts as a fan j

Jonathan - thank you for comments. I agree with you on this and think all parties concerned are looking for a way out that will see PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue but also deal with the very serious problem.
As it relates to last season of PSG, I wrote about it quite a bit prior to blogging here and there was much more going negatively then just on the pitch. My vantage is from working within the coaching world for quite some time and I think they’ve done a remarkable job so far addressing the issues and virtually re-tooling the club. That doesn’t simple mean on the the pitch but recognizing the unique characteristics of the city and ensuring their bond to the community is tightened.
Lets talk some more - do you mind if I send you an email?
