Fiorentina Preview

By: Thomas | July 29th, 2009

First off, we have nice images of the home and away jerseys, so they may be more carefully critiqued.

Next, I believe we have a match today, and a challenging one at that. We will take on Fiorentina at their home, the Stadio Artemio Franchi, at 20:30 CET today. Fiorentina are a very strong team, with talents such as Adrian Mutu, Alberto Gilardino, and Sebastien Frey. PSG will probably continue their complete squad rotation style, but I predict that players more likely to start in the regular season will feature in this match. Here is the list: APOULA Edel, ARMAND Sylvain, BOURILLON Grégory, CEARA Marcos, CHANTOME Clément, CLEMENT Jérémy, COUPET Grégory, ERDING Mevlut, GIULY Ludovic, JALLET Christophe, KEZMAN Mateja, LUYINDULA Peguy, MAKELELE Claude, NGOYI Granddi, SAKHO Mamadou, SESSEGNON Stéphane, TRAORE Sammy. The only notable absences are Zoumana Camara and Guillaume Hoarau due to injury and Jerome Rothen. Many young players are also excluded.

My formation:
Coupet
Jallet Traore Sakho Armand
Giuly Makelele Clement Sessegnon
Erding Luyindula

My Prediction:
I see us losing this match. a 2-1 victory for Fiorentina.

In other news, it seems that our transfer season is effectively over, according to Antoine Kombouare.

I managed to sign the four players I was after. We’ve got a really good spine to the team. The squad I’ve got is fine by me. I’ve got the players I need. All that’s left is to wait for a few players to leave the club to make the final adjustments, but as I said the squad is just fine by me.

I wonder who is leaving besides Rothen. Anyone have any ideas?

Off the pitch we have some exciting news. Robin Leproux has been named adviser to PSG President Sebastien Bazin, and is expected to take over from him in the next few weeks. This is certainly a busy time for the capitol club!
