Fréderic Piquionne?
By: j | July 24th, 2008Le Parisien is reporting that PSG is considering making an offer on Monaco Striker Fréderic Piquionne. The twenty-nine year-old has a consistently shown a notable goal-scoring touch ability while at Monaco as well as previous stops at Saint-Étienne and Stade Rennais. Amongst his career accomplishments, he was called-up to Les Bleus by the mad-cap Raymond Domenech (he’s a Sagittarius and that match was in March, of-course you call him up, what are you thinking?). This is an interesting situation and you can’t be sure of whether this is done for bargaining position of other players or to swoop in at an opportune time for a glorious Striker while Monaco air-lifts in new signings.
I will update as information becomes available.

PSG desperately need a striker. Luyindula cannnot be trusted to score many goals and Horau is in his first season.

Nice are in for him, too, as (allegedly) are Lyon.

I just don’t get PSG sometimes. Pauleta is around and is still PSG’s best goalscorer! Plus they just sold N’gog, who could have been PSG’s main man in a year or two, to Liverpool.
It makes no sense.

Inara - I completely agree with you regarding Pauleta. He’s a great leader and of course, produces on the pitch. However more importantly he should become an ambassador for the club and should have been extended a contract offer when available. I also can’t the same offer isn’t forthcoming from Portuguese clubs and while he noted only the “big three”, if I was one of the other clubs we’d be sitting down and explaining a long-term service contract that would move him into the front office after a season of playing.
As it relates to young Mr. N’Gog, I honestly feel bad for him because I think his agent / representatives are doing him a horrible disservice in recommending the move. I am concerned with similar issues with Gaël N’Lundulu and am just hopeful they don’t regret their decisions. Have you heard much of Gaël lately?
