Grenoble match review
By: j | September 27th, 2008Grenoble’s brilliant start to the Ligue 1 season continued at Parc des Princes with a 1-0 victory over PSG. The match was decided with fourteen minutes from time as Nassim Akrour shocked the home squad with a powerful strike from roughly twenty-two meters. PSG had many scoring opportunities throughout the match but Grenoble ‘keeper Gregory Wimbee walled-up and didn’t allow a strike behind him. PSG continued to threaten to the last moment but as it so often goes, squandered opportunities have a heavy cost and they went down to defeat.
PSG returns to action on Thursday against Kayserispor in UEFA Cup action.

Gaston – thank you for the comments. I think Grenoble is winning because they are playing the most disciplined Football in Ligue 1. It hasn’t been what I consider a great start for the entire league as many matches are being decided on sloppy work.
