Kayserispor match preview
By: j | September 17th, 2008Paul Le Guen’s PSG travels to Turkey to face Kayserispor in their first UEFA Cup match tomorrow and they better be prepared as the Anatolian Stars are by no means an easy club to face.
The home squad is a tough defensively minded club that this past weekend in Süper Lig action, defeated Kocaelispor in a tight 1-0 affair after a nil draw the week before against Galatasaray. While I am repeating myself, they will not be a “push-over” and PSG should be prepared for a highly supportive home crowd to cheer their club on. While they have had problems connecting in the first three matches of the campaign, they have shown extraordinary discipline in play and boast a fine attacking lineup that includes Mehmet Topuz, Julius Aghahowa, Tevfik Köse and Salomon Olembe that will surely begin to score. The afore-mentioned Mehmet Topuz could be the key to the home squads efforts and PSG midfield will need to take special care.
I expect Paul Le Guen to use the following lineup:
Mickaël Landreau,
Grégory Bourillon, Sylvain Armand,Ceará,Sammy Traoré,
Stéphane Sessegnon, Claude Makélélé, Ludovic Giuly, Jérôme Rothen,
Guillaume Hoarau, Mateja Kežman
For fans, this is possibly the most exciting match of the year with tactical intrigue, a highly supportive home crowd and a underdog club looking to prove its worth in European competition.
I will report on it once it concludes.
