Kayserispor match review

PSG defeated Kayserispor 2-1 in UEFA Cup action yesterday Kayseri Turkey. Paul Le Guen took a aggressive position by holding back Stéphane Sessegnon, Claude Makélélé, Ludovic Giuly and Guillaume Hoarau from the starting lineup so that they are fully recovered for this weekends match against Saint-Étienne.

The match started fast with Mateja Kežman poaching a goal at the five minute mark from a Jérôme Rothen corner to give PSG the 1-0 lead. Defensively PSG was near perfect and Mickaël Landreau was undisturbed in the first forty-five minutes and the match went to the break 1-0. Sensing a need for a tighter defensive net with the home club building in strength, Claude Makélélé entered the match at the sixty-second minute for Jérémy Clément. Urged on by their highly supportive fans, Paraguayan international Delio Toledo leveled the match with only three minutes before time. Then just before time ran out, Cearà’s long pass to Péguy Luyindula was quickly slotted into the back to give PSG the all-important 2-1 away victory.

PSG visits Saint-Étienne this Sunday.
