Matchday 12: Sochaux vs. PSG or “Can it possibly get worse?”
By: Thomas | November 1st, 2009
As I’m sure you all know, last weeks Classico was postponed because Mamadou Sakho, Ludovic Giuly, Jeremy Clement, and Loris Arnaud contracted swine flu. The new date is November 20th and all four of them have gotten over it, although the entire squad is on Tamaflu as a precaution. Anyway, we’re traveling to Montbelliard today still searching for those three points that have eluded us since August. We’re in 13th place, however we have played two fewer games than everyone else, so we could theoretically be in 6th. Positives exist. Other positives include the return of Zoumana Camara and Mevlut Erding, who are both likely to feature, and the news that the four players who had swine flu will be able to play in the match.
PSG: So, our only absentees for the match are Guillaume Hoarau (injury) and Claude Makelele (suspension). It’s nice that there are so few, although these are important players. So, for our predicted lineup:
Coupet
Ceara-Camara-Sakho-Armand
Giuly-Ngoyi-Clement-Sessegnon
Luyindula-Erding
Remember that we haven’t won since Erding was injured, and he’s back against his former club…
Sochaux: Obviously Charlie Davies is out, as is Carlao, while Nicolas Maurice-Belay is suspended. That’s good news for us as I believe all three of them are considered key players. Le Groupe Sochalien: Dreyer, Richert – J.Faty, Perquis, Bréchet, Jokic, Josse, Dramé, Stevanovic – Mar.Martin, Mikari, , B.Gavanon, Nogueira, Boudebouz, S.Dalmat – Sverkos, Butin, Privat. I honestly have no idea what they’re lineup will look like, so I’ll tell you in the comments when it’s released.
My Prediction: Remember about Erding. 2-1 for PSG.

I love Makelele, but since he is not playing I’ll be rooting for Sochaux! They’ve been playing some great games thus far this season– despite having some serious setbacks (Davies injury). Though, PSG have definitely had a rough season this year.
I’m terrible at predictions– but I’ll go with a draw.

The score is 0-1 at halftime. Dula dived for a penalty, which Erding hit into Richert, but Clement scored on the second rebound.

Good to see Clement was able to score so soon after recovering.

Wohoo!! Just got back home and saw the final score–4-1 for PSG. Erding and Luyindula scored the final two goals.

If OM can improve their form & confidence the Nov 20 match would be a cracker!
