Matchday 5: AS Monaco vs. PSG
By: Thomas | September 13th, 2009
Today at 21:00 CET (That’s 9AM Eastern, Noon Pacific) PSG take on AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II in the principality. Expect a closer match than any so far for us, as we have yet to face as strong an opponent.
Monaco are currently in 12th place with 6 points from four matches. However, this will be their first match after major additions to their squad. Eidur Gudjohnsen, formerly of Barcelona and Chelsea, has moved to Ligue 1, and Mathieu Coutadeur, formerly of Le Mans, has made the trip south. These signings addressed key deficiencies in the squad and Monaco may become a force to be reckoned with. Learn more about this Monaco team here. Le Groupe Monegasque: Ruffier, Thuram – Lolo, Adriano, Mongongu, Puygrenier, Mangani, Traoré, Muratori – Nkoulou, Gosso, Costa, Coutadeur, Alonso, Nenê – Pino, Park, Gudjohnsen, Nimani. Jerko Leko is ill, Diego Perez and Lukman Haruna are suspended, and Yohann Mollo and Distel Zola are recovering from injuries.
For PSG, Mevlut Erding will obviously be out with the shoulder surgery, and Zoumana Camara is still out as well. This will be Stephane Sessegnon’s 100th match in Ligue 1, assuming he plays. Le Groupe Paresien: APOULA Edel, ARMAND Sylvain, BOURILLON Grégory, CEARA Marcos, CHANTOME Clément, CLEMENT Jérémy, COUPET Grégory, GIULY Ludovic, HOARAU Guillaume, JALLET Christophe, LUYINDULA Peguy, MAKELELE Claude, MAURICE Jean-Eudes, NGOYI Granddi, SAKHO Mamadou, SANKHARE Younousse, SESSEGNON Stéphane, TRAORE Sammy.
Lineup Prediction:
Coupet
Ceara-S. Traore-Sakho-Armand
Giuly-Makelele (c)-Clement-Sessegnon
Hoarau-Luyindula
Predicted Outcome:
2-1 for PSG.
Streams can be found here. I’ll be live posting the match, so stay tuned!

Halftime. 0-0, but it’s quite exciting. We’re pretty evenly matched.

Whoa, my stream died for a second or two and when it was back Sessegnon had a red card. What????

Don’t worry there’s still much games to play. In the next one against Lyon, Le Parc has to be full and with a great atmosphere. Next sunday Le Parc has to be full. Paris Est Magic!!! WINNING THIS MATCH WILL BE A PUNCH OF AUTHORITY.

Full time. Very disappointing. A red for Sessegnon and two goals conceded in last ten minutes? Not what I expect with this team.

Thomas what’s the richest club in France?

I know that PSG is in the top 3 of the richest clubs in France

I believe it’s Lyon, then Marseille, and PSG rounds out the top three with Bordeaux close behind.

I just finished watching the game and what bad luck for PSG. They had their chances, but anyone could have won that game. Going into it, I said it was going to be a 2-2 score and, honestly, I am surprised that PSG didn’t next two. They sure could have, that is for sure.
