Mateja Kežman update 4
By: j | July 30th, 2008
In continuation of prior updates to the Mateja Kežman saga, a variety of media sources and business parties are claiming that an agreement between PSG and Mateja has been met. However this deal is far from complete as the clubs have hit a possible roadblock with the Istanbul club bargaining hard in the range the fee of €3.5m - 4m, considerably higher were they last stalled at €2.5m.
Luis Aragonés is putting together a very impressive squad at Fenerbahçe and with many other deals in the offing and the market competition with Zenit St. Petersburg of the Russian Premier League interested as well, PSG will likely need to move higher or this deal will fall apart.
I will update further as information becomes available.

Hum….signing Briand will actually cost them 10m euros buddy, so if i have to choose between Kezman (who’s proved himself at top competition and at the most would cost 5m) and Briand (who hasnt proved himself yet as a top goalscorer and whose franchise doesnt want to let him go) i would say just put all your efforts into signing Kezman rather than Briand.

I agree, Jaime.

But in the long run maybe Briand will be the better offer i mean the age gap is huge and Briand is a real talent that can only get better with the service from the likes of Guily , and Rothen!

I agree Pierre, but having a guy like Kezman for 4/5m euros is just perfect for Paris. Plus it leaves them with extra cash to go after a decent defender (sthg that is lacking so far). A lot of people in Paris feel that giving out 10m for a guy like Briand is a little too far-fetched (i mean 7 goals in 30some+ games…?). There is no denying the guy doesn’t have talent, and the guy wants to go to Paris, but Kezman has agreed to cut his salary off by 30% and agreed the contract PSG offered him. Now let’s wait and see if the bid offer makes FNHB happy (hope it does, ’cause the shadow of Zenith is looming over that transfer so PSG better hurry the hell up).
At the end of the day though, the perfect deal would be having Kezman AND Briand AND Basa (for example), that’ll be the sweetest deal ever.Posted from

Greetings from Serbia. Kezman is a great striker. He got award for the best foreign player in PSV history. Also he scores on almost every important games. He is nearly perfect striker for PSG. His style is smth like Pauleta’s style. Very fast, with and off the ball, can score goals from anywhere. Also, he need some good assistant in the middle to “feed” him with balls. If you want more infos about Kezman, please visit his FAN Club: http://www.mateja-kezman.net Regards
