more on Ludovic Giuly move
By: j | July 18th, 2008
In an update to the glorious move to bring Ludovic Giuly to PSG I’ve been shifting through a series of interviews and press conferences and there are a number of areas that have impressed me. Most notably that he stressed his commitment to the club that he will bring his style of creative play to club and for them to lay trust in his hands. Of everything he noted was the repetitive commentary of him being very (very, very) happy to be in Paris and a return home to France. In stressing that leaving Roma was “more personal” he explicitly emphasized a very special personal side of this return to Ligue 1 and amongst the dizzying contracts we hear bantered about, this was about more than money. It struck a chord of pride and honour that you only see from a more mature player, who understands he has so much more to give the game but that the clock is ticking. I can’t help but think some of these emotions relate to Raymond Domenech’s exclusion of him from Les Bleus and showing the PSG faithful, if not all of France, that he is still be a force on the Football stage. In signing him, Charles Villeneuve brought in a superb Footballer that can restore the team to glory and provide endless thrills. However today I suspect they found out they got so much more, a leader with a promise and a mission.

I’m so glad to see him back in France. Roma was obviously not good for him. I hope he can repeat the form he had with OL.
