Pedro Pauleta ?
By: j | July 16th, 2008
With the final conclusion whistle in the last campaign I was relieved to see PSG escape dreaded relegation. Yet with this finale came a deep sadness, the ending of Pedro Pauleta’s career with PSG as he strode off Parc des Princes. His plans had been simple, to finish his career with a final season in his homeland of Portugal. A noble gesture by a leader who has given so much to the game.
However at this date, the top three Portuguese clubs have yet to call and Pedro has stated he would be open to a return, a curtain-call if you will. However no longer included in Manager Paul Le Guen plans, Chairman Charles Villeneuve has went on record in stating that he will not be back at the club.
For a club that barely survived relegation, it must not thwart efforts to steal the younger players of the team and develop its youth but recognize its past. Pedro, who at thirty-five years of age is certainly past his prime, is still a wily veteran who can put the ball in the net and provide leadership. To not bring him back for the season is a foolhardy decision that needs to be reconsidered.

Finally PSG offside comes back to life. Same cannot be said about PSG though. I have just seen the club go to ruins since I started following them in 2001.
