A 1-1 draw against Ligue 2 US Boulogne Côte d’Opale, of beautiful Boulogne-sur-Mer, gave Paul Le Guen a good sense of the squads development as well as a good chance to have some of the younger players such as Maxime Partouche get valuable playing time. With key areas of concern of reducing defensive lapses, improved midfield play and general work-rates there must be a modest sense of accomplishment, albeit in the early stages. First half striking duo of Guillaume Hoarau and Péguy Luyindula showed a reasonable sense of growing familiarity and Guillaume, back from a loan to Le Havre, netted our loan goal off the solid work Loris Arnaud.
While the second half was somewhat quiet, as is many friendlies, the highly promising twenty-year old striker Yannick Boli looked to be gaining confidence with each touch. Yannick, still unknown to many is a superb young French striker who could rise up the ranks very quickly and should be watched closely.
