PSG faces MontluƧon in Coupe de France

By: j | January 2nd, 2009

This Sunday, PSG returns to play with a match against amateur side ƉDS MontluƧon in the Coupe de France. The MontluƧon side play in Group C of Championnat de France Amateurs (CFA) along with reserve sides from Auxerre, Bordeaux and Le Mans. For the match MickaĆ«l Landreau will rest his weary shoulder and Apoula Edel will handle the ‘keeping his duties. PĆ©guy Luyindula is questionable given a recent illness and the medical staff will make that decision closer to match time. Quite obviously Paul Le Guen will use his roster accordingly and rest a variety of players rather than risk injury but still look to not put this match at risk.

However for true followers this will make for an interesting opportunity to see the likes of some of the younger players that PSG is have in their development program. Although they have yet to announce the squad list, teens Granddi Ngoyi, Younousse SankharĆ©, Maxime Partouche and GaĆ«tan Charbonnier have a great deal of promise and Sunday’s match would be a splendid opportunity to give them some valuable playing time.

I will report on the match as it concludes.
