PSG v Sochaux-Montbéliard match preview
By: j | January 17th, 2009Following last weeks devastating loss to Bordeaux, Paul Le Guen’s force returned to winning ways mid week against RC Lens in the Coupe De La Ligue. With Sochaux-Montbéliard visiting Parc des Princes they enter a period of five highly winnable matches and need to strike with precision if they are to fulfill their lofty goals.
For Francis Gillot’s side it has been a trying year and sitting eighteenth in the the table their fight to hold off relegation will be hard one. However last week they served notice that they are ready for the challenge as they defeated fellow relegation threatened Saint-Étienne 1-0. In their defense, they possess a promising lineup including a striking duo Václav Svěrkoš and Turkish international Mevlüt Erdinç as well as veteran Francileudo Santos and young-gun Valter Birsa waiting in the wings. Should their play-making service improve, Les Lionceaux troubles could change quickly and they will climb the table. While they face the Parisians without ‘keeper Teddy Richert and captain Stéphane Dalmat, Paul Le Guen knows to come out with full three points they must apply constant pressure, maintain good width but equally keep an eye towards their countering tendency.
Enjoy the match and as always I will report on it as it concludes.

Welcome Marshall – thank you for joining, it is always nice to have a fellow supporter.
Gaston – I hope you are correct. I am continuously surprised that the Lionceaux don’t do better. They have a superb striking group and are a very capable side.
