Robin Leproux: European Status for PSG

By: Thomas | September 7th, 2009

This week Robin Leproux will officially take over the roll of PSG President from Sebastien Bazin, and he has pretty high ambitions for the club. Here’s what he told L’Equipe:

“We want to advance the PSG steadily. We must be capable in the medium term to sustain €15-20 million of additional revenue from our current turnover. With a budget of €100-100m, we could have a team capable of sustained play in the Champions League.”

His expectations for Kombouare:

“This season, he will qualify for a European cup, but not necessarily the Champions League. The shareholders are always right to increase expectations. As Laurent Blanc said, ‘When one seeks Europe, we are not guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League.’”

And his reasons for not making Alain Roche the club sporting director:

“The relationship between Antoine and Alain is historically so close that we did not want to put a hierarchy between them. It would be awkward.”

I like the sound of a highly ambitious president. I’m looking forward!

In other news, PSG played a friendly training match on Saturday against the UNFP, which ended 6-1 in our favor. Match lineups are unavailable, but the scorers were Jean-Eudes Maurice (2), Guillaume Hoarau, Peguy Luyindula, Albert Baning, Loris Arnaud, and Ouejdide for the UNFP. Here are some pictures from the match:

To conclude, a few more polls:

So, this week, will Guillaume Hoarau be starting or off the bench again? Any idea?

Since he seems to have regained fitness, I would assume he’s starting. However, with our forward line in such good form, Kombouare may choose not to change it. Who knows. If he does start, we might move Luyindula to the right in place of Giuly and have him partner Erding? or a 4-3-3? Lets wait and see.

Doesnt matter who the president is, they are still a puppet for Capital Colony who wont spend much money.

How long is this new president staying?

I think Hoarau will finish top scorer. He is great in the air and can make a real difference that way. Rothen’s creativity will be missed though.

Well, Erding is out this week and having surgery on his shoulder. Therefore, I assume that Hoarau is starting.

Oh you’re right. I forgot about that. Then he will definitely be partnering Luyindula.

If Canal+ has no longer ownership of PSG why the club doesn’t reclaim the Ligue 1 1992-93 title that was revoked to Marseille and Canal+ didn’t allow the club to reclaim it because they feared the loss of subscribers in Provence. PSG IS THE RIGHTEOUS WINNER OF THAT LEAGUE. This the first thing Robin Leproux should do on front of PSG. SHAME ON CANAL+.
