Saint-Étienne defeats PSG with perfect tactical plan
By: j | September 21st, 2008PSG’s unbeaten streak came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Saint-Étienne at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard today. The home squad employed a brilliant strategy, in many ways the same approach that Paul Le Guen has used, dictated play with disciplined attacking and patient defending. PSG’s attacking end looked heavy-legged and road weary from this weeks UEFA Cup match in Turkey and truthfully didn’t threaten Les Verts ‘keeper Jodi Viviani. The match was decided in the twelfth minute with a blistering Mouhamadou Dabo strike from thirty meters. With this loss, Paul Le Guen will need to further address short match weeks as it is obvious how fatigue and conditioning played its role in todays match.
PSG hosts Grenoble at Parc des Princes next Saturday.
