SC Braga holds PSG to scoreless draw

By: j | March 13th, 2009

With an eye towards Le Classique against l’OM this Sunday at Parc des Prince, Paris Saint-Germain gave up an important advantage in the UEFA Cup as they played Sporting Clube de Braga to scoreless draw at Parc des Princes.

Paul Le Guen was able to field a top-shelf starting eleven that included Claude Makélélé and Stéphane Sessegnon but clearly with Ludovic Giuly and Guillaume Hoarau rested, the lacking was lacking inspiration. Early efforts were well quarantined by the sturdy Portuguese side and seeing the need for a change, Paul Le Guen brought-in Guillaume Hoarau and Ludovic Giuly on the hour and further ten minutes later Mateja Kežman. Six minutes into the second forty-five Clément Chantôme forced the best out of Braga ‘keeper and on the hour the Parisians continued to pressure with Jérôme Rothen rattling the post, however following these failed efforts PSG was unable to launch a serious threat and the match ended without a score.
