week 4 match preview v Caen
By: j | August 29th, 2008PSG heads into this match with a firm reminder, no nightmare, of last season’s 3-0 devastation at the hands of Caen. To reverse their fortune Paul Le Guen will need to continue with the disciplined approach but equally get greater output and finishing up-front while pushing the pace of the match higher.

Key Defending Points
Caen’s results up to this point have been misleading with regards to offensive output as excluding the Valenciennes match, they haven’t shown an ability to control play, initiate an attack or finish. Tactically it appears clubs have realized that once you control Argentine Juan Eduardo Eluchans their opportunities will drop measurably and I am positive that has not went unnoticed by Claude Makélélé. Set pieces can be a danger with them and once-again, PSG must do a better job at defending this area.
Attacking points summary
Mateja Kežman has been with the club for a full week and I’m expecting a massive push forward in the attack with him taking a very pronounced role. Ludovic Giuly was masterful this weekend and I expect Stéphane Sessegnon and Jérôme Rothen to have firm instructions to keep the pace of the match up to head straight at Caen’s weakness.
I will report on this match as it concludes.
