week five ahead
By: j | September 6th, 2008With it four weeks into the campaign, PSG supporters would have to agree that overall results have been highly positive. The downward spiral of last year has long since been forgotten and the club is moving in the right direction. While performance certainly hasn’t provided overwhelming victories, PSG has exhibited tenacity on the pitch and found a way to win the tight match. Possibly most impressive is the overall theme of a professional approach to each match, preparation and managing to squeeze out points where they can.
As Paul Le Guen looks forward from the Caen victory, he notes the club is in a positive state and has made appropriate changes after the opening week loss against Monaco. The international break has primarily been used for general practices and even team-building / charitable events.
Next week the club welcomes Nantes to Parc des Princes. It has been a very challenging start for Les Canaris as they have only managed a draw against Monaco in four matches and with manager Michel Der Zakarian resigning, the job has been handed to Christian Lariepe. This past weekends 4-1 trounching at home at the hands of Le Mans is clear indication that the feeding frenzy on the bottom-dweller has begun and PSG will push for a full three points.
As we approach the match I will be preparing a full match review, including a in-depth look at Nantes.
